[CMMI] 'Capability Level' 과 'Maturity Level' 간의 차이는?

[Capability Level (능력 수준)]

- 특정 프로세스 영역에 대한 능력 수준.

- Continuous representation 에서 사용됨.

- 각각 하나하나 항목마다 level이 매겨짐. 
  -> 어떤 부분을 집중적으로 강화해야 하는지 알기 쉬움.

- E.g. 국어 90점, 영어 60점, 수학 80점, 과학 70점 이니, 영어학원을 따로 다녀서 영어실력을 우선 올려야겠군.

- Level은 0 ~ 3 까지 있음

   - Capability Level 0: Incomplete

   - Capability Level 1: Initial

   - Capability Level 2: Managed

   - Capability Level 3: Defined

 

[Maturity Level (성숙도 수준)

- 조직 전체의 성숙도와 프로세스 개선의 정도를 나타내는 단계.

- 여러 프로세스 영역에서의 성숙도와 능력 수준의 집합. 즉, Capability level의 집합으로 구성됨.

- 조직이 어느 단계에 올라왔는지 전체적으로 보는 개념임

- e.g. 국어랑 수학이 둘 다 80점 이상이니까 이 학생은 중간 실력은 되네.

- Level은 0 ~ 5 까지 있음

   - Maturity Level 0: Incomplete

   - Maturity Level 1: Initial

   - Maturity Level 2: Managed

   - Maturity Level 3: Defined

   - Maturity Level 4: Quantitatively Managed

   - Maturity Level 5: Optimizing

 

[Capability Level과 Maturity Level은 서로 어떤 관계인가?]

- Maturity level 을 달성하기 위해서는 특정 process 집합이 모두 특정 Capability level 이상을 만족해야 함.

   - 예: 'Maturity Level 2' 라고 말하려면, Maturity Level 대상인 process 각각의 Capability level이 모두 Capability Level 2 이상이어야 함.

  - 아래 table에서는 capability level이 5까지 있음. 표준마다 version마다 다른 것 같음. (개념은 같음)
